LESSON FROM THE BENCH

My time as a court commissioner and as a litigation attorney convinced me that court is not the place to resolve most relationship problems. The adversarial nature of the court polarizes people. People become defensive from being attacked. They are unable to focus on finding solutions to their disputes, because they are preoccupied with self-preservation and counter attack.
